Reclining male nude

Painted in 2000 this self-portrait is based on a blurred photo which created the impression of movement. Initial washes were applied in acrylic very loosely and allowed to drip, adding a certain movement to the work. Final layers were applied relatively thinly with oil some dripping and blooming was allowed to help further the impression of movement although on the whole such process was used to add to the visual effect of the painting rather than to reproduce movement.

Supplied either as stretched painting or can be sent as a rolled canvas for the buyer to stretch or frame themselves. This second option is safer and easier to transit.
